I Am

Looking to become something is completely conceptual, merely an idea. In this lies its power of transformation. The seeker will discover that he is what he seeks and that what he seeks is the source of the inquiry. Used book in Good Condition. This can motivate us towards the search for our real nature beyond appearances.

What you already are is the answer and the source of the question. We may find ourselves asking, 'why am I here? What is life? Who am I?' Sooner or later any intelligent person asks these questions. What you are looking for is what you already are, not what you will become. There may be a moment in life when our compensatory activities, the accumulation of money, learning and objects, leaves us feeling deeply apathetic.

In this book jean klein once again offers us one of the clearest and most direct expositions of Advaita in our times. The root of all desires is the one desire: to come home, to be at peace. It is a present actual fact.

Being Aware of Being Aware The Essence of Meditation Series

This overlooking of our own being is the ultimate cause of unhappiness. It is in this experience that the peace, happiness and love for which all people long reside. Most people’s lives consist of a flow of thoughts, sounds, feelings, sensations, images, sights, ideas, and so on. Everybody is aware, all seven billion of us.

We are aware of thoughts, feelings, sensations, and perceptions. What is the nature of the experience of being aware or awareness itself? The exploration of this question is the subject matter of this book and the essence of the Direct Path to peace and happiness. The essence of meditation series presents meditations on the essential, non-dual understanding that lies at the heart of all the great religious and spiritual traditions, compiled from contemplations led by Rupert Spira at his meetings and retreats.

This obvious, familiar and intimate experience has no objective qualities and is, therefore, overlooked or ignored by the majority of people. Being aware of being aware is the first and introductory volume in The Essence of Meditation Series. Very few people ask, and perceptions? with what am i aware of my experience?'The knowing of our being—or rather, feelings, 'What is it that knows this flow of thoughts, awareness’s knowing of its own being in us—is our primary, fundamental and most intimate experience.

The happiness we have sought so long outside of ourselves, in situations, objects and relationships, turns out to be always present and available in the simple knowing of our own being as it truly is. The knowing of our own being shines in each of us as the experience ‘I am’ or ‘I am aware’, or simply the knowledge ‘I’.

Jean emphasized the direct approach to liberation, an approach free from emphasis on the attainment of progressively subtle psycho-somatic states. The book of listening reproduces each original volume in full and, as well as offering an exposition of the direct path, captures the multi-cultural interests and tastes of this remarkable and pioneering exponent of Advaita in the West.

Listening also includes one question answered in depth Your Question and a brief description of Jean's unique approach to the role of the body in his teaching.

The Perfume of Silence

Jean klein's guru, pandit Veeraraghavachar, was a Professor at the Sanskrit College in Bengalore. Their teachings, despite some superficial similarities, are quite different from those of most contemporary western neo Advaita teachers. They emphasize for instance the importance of the direct transmission from guru to disciple, through presence, and they recognize that the same universal truth was expressed by various saints, beyond words, philosophers and teachers throughout history and across the world.

That which matters here is not the form of the teaching, the freedom of his humour, as much as the authenticity of the teacher, the outpouring of his love, direct or gradual for instance, the splendor of his poetry, the brilliancy of his intelligence, the vibrancy of his realization, the spontaneous sharing of his peace.

Written in the lucid and eloquent style which characterises his work, each chapter is composed of an introductory discourse followed by questions and answers. The Ease of Being

A musicologist and doctor, spent several years in India where he met his Guru and was initiated into traditional wisdom. He was eventually sent back to Europe to teach Advaita Vedanta. This teaching employs a "direct approach" beyond any mental activity or striving, pointing straight to the ultimate where all that belongs to the mind, time, and space is integrated.

The Transparency of Things: Contemplating the Nature of Experience

Book on yoga, awareness, Conscousness, meditation, Advaita Vedanta, Self - Realization. Used book in Good Condition. It is the conscious Presence that is aware of this current experience. The purpose of the transparency of Things is to look clearly and simply at the nature of experience, without any attempt to change it.

A series of contemplations leads us gently but directly to see that our essential nature is neither a body nor a mind. As such, it is nothing that can be experienced as an object, and yet it is undeniably present. However, these contemplations go much further than this. We see that our experience is and has only ever been one seamless totality, objects, with no separate entities, or parts anywhere to be found.

As we take our stand knowingly as this conscious presence that we always already are, mind, and world, and reconsider the objects of the body, we find that they do not simply appear to this Presence; they appear within it. And further exploration reveals that they do not simply appear within this Presence but as this Presence.

The Nature of Consciousness: Essays on the Unity of Mind and Matter

The peace that is inherent in us—indeed that is us—is not dependent on the situations or conditions we find ourselves in. In a series of essays that draw you, into an exploration of the nature of this knowing element that each of us calls “I, through your own direct experience, ” The Nature of Consciousness posits that consciousness is the fundamental reality of the apparent duality of mind and matter.

Ease of Being. Our experience never ceases to change, but the knowing element in all experience—consciousness, or what we call “I”—itself never changes. This is the fundamental presumption of mind and matter that underpins almost all our thoughts and feelings and is expressed in our activities and relationships.

New harbinger. The knowing with which all experience is known is always the same knowing. Conversely, the book suggests that the recognition of the fundamental reality of consciousness is the first step in the quest for lasting happiness and the foundation for world peace. It is a philosophy of conflict and, as such, communities, the root cause of hostilities between families, and nations.

I’ve gained deeper understanding listening to Rupert Spira than I have from any other exponent of modern spirituality. After all, life happens independently of our models of it. Jean Klein.

Beyond Knowledge

Used book in Good Condition. We have come to satisfy the inner need to know ourselves, to share our oneness, to hear directly what life is. Jean Klein. To receive life one must be open to it. Only consciousness never changes. The knower is consciousness. We must find out what never changes in us. Beyond knowledge is a crystallization in word-form of this timeless wisdom.

To read these dialogues is to enter into a scale of inquiry and clarity that knows no compromise. To be impregnated, the mind must be free from wrong knowing, that is, free from imposing an independent existence on all that is objective. Used book in Good Condition. This means that the being open is life itself.

From 1960 he taught in Europe and later in the United states. It depends on a knower. Life can only be understood by life. Nothing that can be known has existence in itself. During these meetings, be open to the openness, allow yourself to be deeply impregnated by the sayings that come directly from life. It carries one through to the end of thought and to the beginning of self-knowledge.

In 1955 the truth of non-dualism became a living reality.
